If you lived in northern Michigan, you’d know how exciting it is to finally see a clear, blue sky in winter! We go weeks — months? — with cloudy skies. A couple days ago I noticed this view — which is along my driveway — and was stuck by the bright blue sky. I’d already done 2 plein airs that day and was getting tired. So I knew what I’d be painting today. It was pretty tricky to paint — all those light and dark colors in gooey-wet oil paint! Ach! I wasn’t sure if I could get it to turn out, but I think it gets the point across.
