Day 2: Paperwhites

A great day to work in the studio! I got a lot done but need another day on this for “touch-ups”. Had to quit when everything was too gooey to go on. You probably can’t see it in this photo, but the blossoms are actually rather dark, even though people think of them as white. Compared to the white cloth background, the blossoms are backlit here, making them appear surprisingly dark.

Snow was heavy at times and the crabapple tree out front was visited by a pair of ruffed grouse, who stayed quite a while, gorging themselves. They’re almost as big as chickens.
