It was such a gorgeous day here that I thought I would surely die if I didn’t go out painting. My leg’s still in a brace but I thought I’d give it a go. I hadn’t been down this section of Dennis Road in several years. It’s a seasonal road, running north and south, just west of the village of Ellsworth. Originally meant to paint a pumpkin field, but the farmer who owned it was busy harvesting corn and couldn’t be bothered. Instead, I turned down Dennis and fell in love with this view. It was perfect: in the shade and there were no cars whizzing past at 65 mph. This might be the last gorgeous day of the year. Possible snow on Tuesday night! And you never know — a big wind could blow all the pretty leaves off overnight.
