Vermeersch Road” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8 x 16″ by Margie Guyot

This is another “new” road I’ve found recently. I painted this on the drive home from painting out on the Jordan River a couple days ago. It had been sunny and rather hot, so I felt lucky to have a nice shady spot to stand under. By “hot”, I mean anything over 75 degrees. Vermeersch runs north and south, off Old State Road, east of Central Lake. I love the late-day shadows and the early fall colors. And of course I love the interesting dirt roads! A few cars passed as I painted, kicking up a cloud of dust. People waved. I think everybody was in a good mood on such a pretty day.
