
I knew it would be rainy this morning, so I took off for Charlevoix early, hoping for the excitement of a nice, flooded street. Alas, the theme of this paint-out was “Charlevoix Parks”. They gave us maps of the eligible parks. Mt. McSauba seemed the most promising to me as I’m not a big fan of meticulously-groomed grass. It was raining and I was happy to sit inside my truck to paint.

From there I drove over to a spot on the edge of Lake Michigan. A light mist was falling, but I still managed to paint outside, on the beach. Dark clouds in the distance promised more rain, so I painted quick as a bunny.
