Easter Sunday 2021

“Easter Sunday – View From the Orchard” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8 x 16″ by Margie Guyot

It was just too gorgeous of a day to hunker down in the studio! On the walk back from visiting the emerging seedlings in my potting shed, I decided to pitch my easel in this spot. The apple orchard throws the most interesting shadows — I just had to do this view. That’s my studio way in the back. Beyond that, there’s a cedar swamp and creek. Those are blueberry bushes on the left (showing red twigs). On the right is the veggie garden. Just the barest hints of green is peeking out. Spring peepers are peeping. Turkey vultures circling overhead. Chickadees singing Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger! Ah, Spring!

My setup for today.
