Day 2 – Yellow Roses

Another busy day schlepping paintings up to Somebody’s Gallery in Petoskey. And prowling my favorite junk shop for treasures. By the time I got home, I was exhausted and felt too pooped to paint. But still… as they always say, the hardest part about painting is getting started. I moseyed out through the snowstorm just to check on things. The roses were dead. It was really too dark to paint. The studio was chilly. Excuses, excuses! Hmmm…. maybe I could try to paint in a few leaves. Even that was a challenge. Only one rose had leaves that weren’t all shriveled and crispy. Sometimes ya gotta just wing it.
