I’ve always liked this view. It’s in back of my studio, on the way down to the creek. I finally decided to paint it this afternoon. Kind of challenging — this is larger than my usual plein air work. It’s 16×20″. I’m looking through a small grove of cedar trees. A couple ancient wild grape vines are crawling up one of the trees. Quite shady back here, so only a few scatterings of ferns make a stab at living back here. A little further on are bracken ferns and past that the ground gets pretty swampy. Oh, and yes — the mosquitoes were out in force.
