
This is the time of year that all the swamps here in Michigan are graced with clouds of blooming pussywillows. The blooms only last a short time. I’d missed them several years in a row. But not this year! Yesterday I drove down the road to a roadside bunch of pussywillows and snipped a few. Yes, they grow on my property, but they’re way out in the knee-deep, icy, mucky water. So call me a thief.
This was my setup along the creek yesterday. It was in the shade. Windy! And I don’t think it even it 40 degrees. I worked until my feet felt frozen. I put the last few details on this morning — inside my warm studio.
