Junk Inspires Me

Yesterday I hit a most fascinating estate sale. The owner had enjoyed exotic treasures from around the world. As soon as I saw these masks I knew I’d have to do a painting with them. Here’s my setup (above).

And here’s what I have drawn in so far (below). I got a late start today, so cut me some slack. I work from life — projecting and tracing is of no interest to me. I love a challenge….
