Drawing in Japanese lanterns is tricky! I ended up having to hang some to get a good look at how they bend. Ideally I’d put a lighted candle inside to see how they’d glow, but the lanterns I have just aren’t set up for that. Oh well. I don’t want to burn the place down, I’m glad I didn’t get too far ahead, coloring in the sky. I knew I’d be putting “something” up there and didn’t want to be fighting with trying to paint over dark blue.
Mr. Alligator is wondering if he’ll get included in this painting. Hmmmmm. Maybe.
