Oh Boy! More Snow!

“Frozen Creek — plein air field study in oil on wood panel 8 x 16″ by Margie Guyot

Our snow had mostly melted. Then bang-o! This morning I woke up to 6″ of fresh snow. Kind of exciting — even though most of us are sick of it by now. The first order of business was to grab the shovel…

Here’s the path from the house to the studio:

Then there’s the studio to the garage:

Followed by the path from the studio to the Swamp House.

But why stop there? The Swamp Path is next.

I’ll spare you the path to the compost pile. Anyway — when I got down to the far end, I looked at the creek and saw it was frozen over. And covered with little globs of snowflakes. Ah — too pretty! I had to set up my easel and paint it.

The whole time I painted, it was snowing lightly. If you look closely at the photo (below) you can see my painting was sprinkled all over with snowflakes by the time I was done. The true mark of a plein air painting!
