A friend had visited the Van Gogh exhibit recently and posted a photo he’d painted of his boots. Well — I thought that might be fun to try painting a pair of my Keens. I just tossed them onto my work table this morning and went at it. All the better to take my mind off some upcoming dental work! Ugh! Yes, of course the composition probably could have been better, but in a way it has the feel of careless exhaustion at the end of a hike. Just take off your boots and collapse! I just happened to have this frame in the back room and a piece of board to fit…
