The last hour of this painting was the most fun: I painted in a sphinx moth (can you find it?), while listening to a lively rendition of “Spongebob Square Pants” on public radio. And there’s nothing like a good bug book to put me in a specially good mood! I keep a small library of local flora and fauna in the studio that I can consult when painting. I’d really hate to paint in some exotic butterfly in a Michigan landscape! I thought I’d call this done, although I might add another bug or butterfly sometime. Better to leave folks wanting more….
