Thank goodness for silk flowers! I held one stem in my left hand and painted. Kind of tough, but it was SNOWING outside, so gardening was kaput. I like adding a stem of gladiolas when necessary. They kind of help keep the eye moving around the composition. Kind of like a helping hand, scooting the kiddies along.
