One of my friends is a weaver. Another designs sweaters. I’m always astounded at how they can work out such complex patterns. I struggle to make sense of abstract designs. This is just a child’s blanket from a garage sale and yet I struggle. Not only the pattern, but getting it to recede in space, to “look flat”, mix the right colors — that’s a challenge. Today was kind of tough. Hoping tomorrow will be better.
Meanwhile, the sleet continues to fall. The birds gorge themselves at the feeders. Possums snooze in their hollow trees. Three lazy cats sleep on my bed and winter sends its best.
