Day 2: Self-portrait with ________

Yesterday I roughed in my self portrait, looking in this big mirror. Today I added some pink zinnias and my hands. Gave the background a glaze just for the heck of it. I’m painting on a big piece of plywood I had cut to fit that wild frame. I always give the plywood several coats of shellac and sometimes it’s as slippery as glass. So adding a layer or two of oil paint helps give it a bit ,more “tooth”. My challenge is to come up with colors and a composition that will look good with this frame. I have some ideas for that. An no, I haven’t cut my hair — I usually keep it in a ponytail while painting. Disasters have happened in the past.
