Or “how I spent my Thanksgiving vacation”. Yeah, it was nose-to-the-grindstone weekend here at Possum Hollow Somebody’s Gallery (yes, that’s the actual name of the place!) emailed me, requesting more little iris paintings, so I got busy. Each one is on gallery-wrapped canvas, 6×6″. What else is there to do around here these days, anyway? Housework??? This year I was smart (for once) and saved one of the iris catalogs that came in the mail. So I had some reference material for a change. In the past I’d paint from life, but I don’t have a limitless variety of irises here. And in the spring it’s a tug-of-war between planting my garden and painting. So while I finished up these little iris, the Black Friday shoppers filled the malls, the snow and sleet fell. And the housework remains undone. Bah! Some other day.
love you blog so much. you are such an interesting writer and of course you know I love your paintings!
