Norwood Beach

“July 1 — Norwood Beach” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8 x 10″ by Margie Guyot

Finally we had a perfect day to go painting. The rain had stopped. And my garden was planted — well, mostly! A few hardy souls met at a favorite place this morning to paint. The clouds were amazing. Of course it was windy as usual. When I got home I had to straighten the horizon line. The wind kept blowing my arm!

My setup today. Notice that all the Soltek legs are resting safely on a blue plastic tarp. I’m trying to be more mindful of the legs. Touchy little buggers. They get sand in and it causes all kinds of troubles. I’d mailed in both easels back in January for new legs. It took 6 months to get them back! And that’s also new: the beach wagon I love it! Holds my turps and water bottle on its little foldout tray.
