Finally — a sunny day in the 40’s! Yes, I spent most of the day in the studio, finishing up my rose painting (will post tomorrow). When I took a break and walked down to check the mail, the view of my driveway got me all excited. Too cool! And there was the new wagon to test out, too. Found it on Amazon. For years I’d struggled along with old, wire grocery carts, sleds, backpacks, etc. lugging my painting gear up and down hillsides, over the ice, etc. What the hell — I’m old! I don’t enjoy carrying heavy loads anymore. Been there, done that. What sold me on this wagon were the big wheels and the folding “drink tray”. Just the thing to hold my turpentine! It even collapses and has its own protective cover. Amazon says it weighs 20 pounds. Well, 20 pounds, my ass! I think it’s a bit more….

It was this long driveway that sold me on the house. Longing for peace, quiet and privacy, I’d told my realtor, “If you see a mailbox with a driveway that goes way, way back and you figure there must be a house — that’s what I’m looking for.” I’ve painted many views from this driveway over the years. In the springtime it’s lined with beautiful, flowering crab trees I’ve planted over the years. Then come the iris. But enough of that. Here’s today’s setup:
