Maple Hill Road

For once the sun surprised me. We’ve had endless days of rain here lately. But this afternoon it made a rare appearance. Hot damn! So many times it’s fooled me: I’ll throw my gear into the truck and take off == and then the dark clouds take over. Bah! But today I was lucky. The sun came out just long enough for me to do this plein air. Maple Hill Road is only about 1 mile from my house and yes, it’s got some rousing dips and steep climbs, thanks to the ancient glaciers. Impossible in winter — the county doesn’t plow.

Ten minutes after I finished this, the clouds rolled back in. Glad I got one in today.
