Late October – Japanese Anemones

My setup on the porch…

A cold, wet, day here, with occasional bouts of snow. I’d been eyeing this last clump of Japanese anemones and thought it’d be tragic not to paint them. Last week the pink anemones finished blooming; this week it’s the white ones. Bundled up in longjohns, a hand-knit wool sweater and raincoat, I sipped a cup of coffee as I plein air painted this view from the porch.
