Grunt Work…

Poppies, Iris — oil on gallery-wrapped canvases, 6 x 6″ by Margie Guyot

With all the rush of planting my veggie garden — now that the snow’s finally melted — weeding, mowing the lawn, getting some construction work done and painting two outbuildings, I somehow – miraculously – managed to paint a new crop of irises and poppies for Somebody’s Gallery up in Petoskey. This afternoon I had to paint all the backgrounds and sides white. Tomorrow I get to use an itty bitty brush and sign every one. I call it “grunt work”. Meanwhile, I thought of a fun and bizarre new painting to do for Michigan Artists’ Gallery in Traverse City. The theme of that one is “The Scream”. Oh joy! Trust me — it will be fun!
