Oh, brrrrrrrr! I painted this one, using an 8×10″ plein air field study as a reference. This spot is at Barnes Park in Eastport, Michigan. It’s a long, steep hillside to get down to the shoreline, but oh boy — it’s always an exciting sight! I’m quite glad I don’t have to go down there today. A rip-roaring blizzard is going on here this afternoon. They say there’s 12-foot waves out on the lake. Wind chimes clanging on the front porch. I guess most people would prefer a painting of “boats on the water”, but today they’ll just get “ice chunks on the beach”.
