Shadynook Road

“Shadynook Road – 4PM” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8 x 10″ by Margie Guyot

The sun annoyed us once more by coming out this afternoon. We’re so used to days and weeks of dim, gray light around here, it’s kind of blinding. But I must admit – it gives great blue shadows! I drove over to King Orchards on M88 and got another 40 pound bag of possum apples*. From there it’s a short jaunt to Shadynook Road. This is how it looked today around 4 PM.

*Possum apples? I set out 2 apples and a hot dog every night for the possums. Plus any dead mice from the traps out in the studio. It’s all gone in the morning.
