A Couple of Quickies

“Tamaracks Along the Driveway” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8 x 10″ by Margie Guyot

A friend said she’d come by today — but wasn’t sure what time. So I hung around. The sun came out and I was itching to go out painting. So I did the next best thing: a painting in my driveway. I was using a panel toned in a very bright pinkish-lavender and struggled with that. Everything looked very green. But I think eventually it turned out OK.

After that I called my friend and drove up to meet her — rather than sit and wait. I’m not a “sit and wait” type person. On the drive home I stopped about a block from my house and painted this view of Scott Road.
