While buying “possum apples” yesterday at King Orchards, I spied a big table loaded with all kinds of squash: some warty, some blotchy. Be still, my heart! And for only $1 each! I just love squash — they’re a hoot to paint! Of course I had to pair them up with some wild, tropical colors. Which go over big here in northern Michigan (ha ha). I must have been a jungle bird in a past life.
