Bliss is having a painting on the easel, calling to me! I spent most of the day working on the box of ornaments. Then I “mopped in” a darker tone on the rug and put a darker color on Mr. Wonderful (the cat on the left). Those white things on the right will be a string of colored lights. Years ago I figured out it’s best to paint them white, let them dry, then give a thin wash of color. Then what to do with the strand of tinsel? It’s another experiment. Two great teachers I’ve had in the past, Robert Bateman and Clyde Aspevig, gave me wonderful advice: never be afraid to experiment!
