White Caladium

“White Caladium” — oil on canvas 30 x 48″ by Margie Guyot

Oy! This was a fun one — but challenging! To me, it’s kind of a symbolic representation of the state of the world. Crazy, hoping for some kind of order. I wasn’t sure at all times if I could pull this off, but I figured what the heck — somebodys gotta do it — and it might as well be me! I loved the way the white caladium leaves serve like a kind of “landing pad” – a place of rest – amidst the chaos. It doesn’t show up that well in this photo, but the leaves have a lot of pale greens, grays and pinks, yet they still read as white.
