T’was a day of details. Picking up artwork from a show (otherwise known as “schlepping”), a trip to the hardware store, watering thirsty flowers, mowing in the orchard. And oh yes, painting in more of the background. I think of a certain well-known artist (who shall remain nameless here) who is famous for his portraits. He projects an image onto the canvas, traces and colors it in. The very complicated backgrounds are painted by employees at his studio over in China. Makes tons of money — and I must admit I love his work. But it doesn’t sound like that much fun.
