Day 3 – Reflected Light

The view from above: what I was looking down at.

When I started learning to paint, everything suddenly became a whole new world of reflected lights, shadow patterns and colors. Things I’d never noticed before. I’d look at everything, wondering how would I mix that color? When I look at friends’ faces, they can be sure I’m not thinking Egads – look at those wrinkles! No, I get transfixed by the patterns of shadows from their glasses and the colors of reflected light from their clothes. Here’s an example:

Ok, back to my still life. Day 3 — and the sun was making a rare appearance — yeaaaaay! But it doesn’t hold still. You never notice how fast it moves until you take up painting. Here’s how it looks so far:
