Purple Tulips Day 2

Actually, this is Day 1. I only had time to work on this for about an hour and I didn’t want to draw in too much of the tulips. I knew they’d “grow” during the night. Mostly what I did on Day 1 was to start indicating shadows and folds.

This is how it looked about lunch-time today. You can see some of my wipe-outs — and you can also see that I do NOT project an image and trace! That takes all the fun out of things.
End of Day 2. After I came back from lunch the sun was shining brightly, casting interesting shadows on the fabric. I painted as quickly as I could to try to get in the shapes. Tulips continued moving in the light. I hope it’s dry enough tomorrow to start adding the golden stripes.
