Zero Degrees, Tons of Snow – and This Tablecloth

Day 5 here.

Still doggedly attacking this tablecloth! I love the colors and general design, but it’s quite a challenge to paint. I plugged away on it most of the day, listening to NPR and the howling wind outside. Gusts up to 40 mph and zero degrees. The forecast was for 6 to 10 inches of snow.

I took a break in the afternoon to rev up the John Deere lawn tractor and try to clear the driveway and the mailbox. Stalled out in the middle of the road just in time for one of the county road graders to come barreling down the hillside toward me! Oh boy!

Who says painters don’t have exciting lives? Losing oneself in a horridly complex tablecloth is sometimes a welcome task.
