10434 Lakeshore Drive….

There was a big garden walk in one of the nearby towns today and I was asked to come and “do my thing”. The place was immaculate — not a weed in sight, And the house was gorgeous. I’m more of a landscape painter, so this was a bit of a challenge. All those sharp edges! And me with old, frayed-out brushes. But at least I had a shady spot to stand in— although the maple leaves in back of me kept tickling my neck.

No, I haven’t quite finished the big still life painting yet, but I suppose it would be tragic to waste “a good summer’s day”. And yes, I’m still dealing with my studio, which was flooded in the recent apocalyptic rainstorm a couple weeks ago. I’d managed to hoist paintings and frames up onto paint cans before they were ruined, but I lost quite few art books.
