I hurridly did this one in between bouts of rain. I’m calling this a study because I’m planning on doing a much larger piece, 24×48″, and none of my plein air easels can handle something that large. Back in the studio, when not under assult from the various insects (!), I can tweak the composition a bit.
The goldenrod is just beginning to open here and I really want to include it in the finished painting. I didn’t have any bright yellow on my palette this afternoon, but did the best I could. And it was a very dark, gloomy afternoon. What I’m waiting for is a bright, sunny morning.
