Summer Morning, Hydrangeas

“Summer Morning, Hydrangeas” — plein air field study in oil on birch panel 8×10″ by Margie Guyot

Having a cup of tea on the porch this morning, I kept looking at the hydrangeas. Hmmmm…. that might make a good painting. The sun was rising over the ridge to the east, flooding over the lawn. Not a time to dilly-dally!

This is my setup, on the porch of the studio. Notice my cat, Picasso. He and Mr. Wonderful love it when I’m home. They’re forever mooching treats….

  1. Good Morning,

Take a look to your left. A painting with both the red and the white would be so cheerful. That really draws my eye.
