Day 1: Rugosa in Blue & Yellow

I snagged this fabric last weekend at the Petoskey Antiques Show. The woman said it was from Hungary. That’s heavy embroidery, not a print. I paired it with some garage sale dishes and a clip from my white rugosa rose. Once I got some of the basic composition drawn in, I focused on painting the white rugosas. Rule #1: if something is likely to die, paint it FIRST!
