Butterflies and Begonia

“Butterflies and Begonia” — oil on canvas 24×30″ by Margie Guyot

Thanks to my friend, Lucy, who always gives me plants to babysit over the winter while she trips off to Texas. I’d been eyeing this beautiful Rex begonia. Finally decided to pair it with some of my butterfly collection. This is just the tip of the iceberg — I’d hit paydirt at a sale up in Northport a year or two ago. Anyway — it was good to have something to occupy me while the Arctic winds and snow blew in over northern Michigan. Finally Lake Michigan is getting some ice! Another friend is coming up next week to vacation in Charlevoix — and we’re both itching to do some plein air painting out on the ice.

  1. I see you added the spoon. Like seeing a winding road going into the distance, the spoon makes me wonder who was sitting there drinking tea. Just a spot of mystery. Nice.

I also love the magnifying glass.
