Painting at Grass River

A friend suggested going to Grass River Natural Area on Saturday. It’s not that far from Eastport but I’d never been there. https://www.grassriver.org/ One of this area’s best-kept secrets (!), it consists of over 1500 acres of prisine woodlands, cedar swamps and streams. There’s also an excellent nature center and cabins. In addition to miles of well-maintained trails, there are some elevated boardwalks running through a cedar swamp:

I almost didn’t bring my fold-up wagon. Thank goodness I threw it in, “just in case”. Otherwise, it would have been a torturously-long walk to make with my sore back & legs, lugging painting gear. Since it was our last “nice day”, possibly for months, I didn’t want to waste it:
