Unlike when I was a “newbie” to painting, these days I’m always keeping my eyes open for a nice, shady spot to stand under. I had some time to kill over around East Jordan, so of course I had my paints along. I headed back to a newly-discovered favorite view, right at the corner of Slough and Boss Roads. Parked on the wrong side of the road, but I got away with it. I love that big, old maple tree! And the goldenrod was in full bloom.
Here it is, close-up:

What a lovely scene!! … and paintings with roads that carry my mind to wondering what is on out the road are my favorites!

Thanks, Rebecca! It’s a pretty spot. Behind that big tree is a very old, abandoned stone house. I want to get back there & paint the fall colors. Not sure if I can get back there in winter, though. It’s a very poorly-kept seasonal road. Very muddy!
