
Mr. Wonderful feels it erver-so necessary to hold my fabric down. Imagine trying to figure out how to paint the designs with this chunky boy laying on it! He thinks it’s his job.
Don’t ask me what inspired me to paint a heron! I couldn’t tell you. But I knew I didn’t want it to look like a Robert Bateman knock-off. I love Bateman. Even took a workshop out in Montana with him back in 1987. One of the most valuable bits of advice he gave us was: Try to make what you do look like something nobody’s ever seen before. So yesterday I knew I didn’t want to use a woodland background. This morning I rummaged around in my stash of fabric and found this silk scarf. I like the colors. That blue is certainly eye-catching. And the bits of orange-rust echo the tints in the heron. So let’s see what tomorrow brings….
