Cat-in-Process

It’s been snowing all day, so I’m not going out to paint. Instead, I’ve been slaving away lately on reorganizing things in my studio. This morning I came across a really cool frame. Just perfect for a painting of my #1 favorite cat: Picasso.

Picasso’s wonderful and smart, but he refuses to pose. So I have to use a photo. I stopped at this point to let it dry a little before I add his whiskers. Whiskers are tricky! You need the perfect, tiny brush, the perfect mix of paint and the perfect wrist movement. So maybe tomorrow I’ll have this all finished and framed.
