
I hadn’t planned on going out to paint again today. It was gloomy and cold (as usual), but somehow I ended up out there with my easel again, doggone it. Thank goodness for long underwear, SmartWool socks, goosedown coats and warm boots! I’d sooner be doing this than washing floors….

These orchard paintings always look pretty hideous in the beginning. Well — most of my paintings look pretty hideous in the beginning! But I’ve done enough of them to be “un-phased”. I snapped a shot of how it looked after about 10 minutes — just for something for you to laugh at:

As I said, this is #4 so far. Here’s a stack of them. They might look pretty good framed…..

But wait! There’s more…..! I’ve also been very busy cranking out 6×6″ paintings of poppies, daffodils & irises. At least that’s one way to get some color going in this drab weather. I climbed up on a ladder to get this shot. I’ll be dropping them off at my galleries in the next week or so.
