We’d gone from a week of temperatures barely reaching 60 to scorchers approaching 90. Finding a nice, shady area to paint yesterday was high on my mind. This spot is in my apple orchard. Right now the trees are loaded with little green apples about the size of large olives. Last year there were hardly any apples. Maybe a late spring frost nipped them out. Or maybe old trees like mine bear irregularly. Many orchards around here are ripped out and replanted, supposedly with newer, improved varieties. Some farmers are even switching to grapes. Climate change has become too obvious to ignore.
A sweet, little house wren serenaded me all day. Her first brood of babies had fledged. Soon she’ll start a second batch. Cowbirds flew about, curious about what that crazy human was up to this time. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Brown-headed_Cowbird/photo-gallery/409919
I’m still recovering from a wicked attack of sciatica, so painting views of my yard are preferable over clambering up hill and dale, lugging heavy equipment along.

Hey Margie, fortunately (lol) I got this post in my junk mail. I’ve been
hacked out of Facebook for about 2 weeks!!! IT spent 2 hours here
yesterday and I’ve spent at least 3 hours an can’t get thru. Can’t even
change password. So glad I at least saw this. I gt my FB picture pop
up but that it…it states that I have 40 messages. Feel bad thinking
people are thinking I’m ignoring them. If you text/speak with Alan
pleas tell him my situation just in case he sent me something. Your
narratives till entertain me and your painting is intriguing…channel
VanGogh. Email, Netflix, Instagram…all hacked. ebay too which I
never use but did last month for car issues.

HELLO Margie; concerning your sciatica; there is now a keyhole mini surgery if you have a ruptured disc; overnight in hospital and pain gone. There are other causes of sciatica which are more complex. Let me know if your considering a cracker jack surgeon.
