Rhubarb!

“Rhubarb” — plein air field study in oil on wood panel 16 x 12″ by Margie Guyot

I hadn’t lifted a brush in a month, thanks to a crippling case of sciatica! Today was the first day I could paint. And we’re right at the height of getting our gardens planted, so it’s been pretty frustrating to have to lay around. I’d just potted up some tomato plants when I looked over and saw my rhubarb plant. It was flowering and so beautiful I just had to paint it!

That big pot on the left? As soon as I finished the painting I managed to tip the whole thing over. Rats! And please ignore the weeds. This year I’m just trying to “do what I can”.
