In My Backyard: Forsythia

“Forsythia – My Backyard” — plein air field study in oil on wood panel 8 x 10″ by Margie Guyot

I had to step away from painting “orange squigglies” for a little while this afternoon. I set up my easel out in the front yard and painted this view of my studio and the “Swamp House” in back. Here’s a photo of my setup (below):

Of course my dear cat, Picasso, kept an eye on things:

And here he is, close-up:

OK, ok — I did work on the still like some more today. Everything was pretty gooey so I had to stop. Hoping I can finish it tomorrow.

  1. Forsythia, my backyard; wow, double wow; you came so close to losing it! One more slash of yellow, one more dab of green and its all over. You’r a risk taker Margie. I sure enjoy your stuff. jim g
