Cranking out the Corn

Here’s what I’ve done so far, based on two semi-nasty, dried-out ears of corn that had probably been picked 2 or 3 weeks ago in Mexico. Kind of like trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Michigan corn is only about knee-high at the moment. I’ll be painting the backgrounds when the paint has had a day or so to dry a bit. Here’s one from last year:
