“Happy Tulips on a Wild Cloth”

“Happy Tulips on a Wild Cloth” — oil on canvas 30 x 30″ by Margie Guyot

As I usually say, I guess this is about as done as it’s going to get. It’s been quite a dark, dismal February and I needed something colorful and wild to work on. Even my cats have been in a kind of cat-funk during this month! I’ll open the door for them to go out and they pause, giving me the most sad, disappointed looks. That fabric — it’s a vintage tablecloth and it falls into the category of “remember not to paint this again”! Fun but maddening. But for those of you who know me, you can be certain I’ll be tacking another terribly-difficult tablecloth again very soon. Which sounds rather like the classic ending of one of the “Uncle Wiggily” stories (quote):

“And if the lemon squeezer doesn’t pinch the rubber ball and make it squeal like a little pig having its face washed, the next pictures and story will tell how Mr. Longears Showed the Piggy Boys How to Behave in School“…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kGjuPLujg4
