
Day 3 on this one and I started mushing in some of the background. That’s what I do when I am procrastinating about doing difficult things. Kind of like when I had to take an algebra test. I’d flip through all the pages, desperately looking for something I could do. I’d do that, then keep looking for something else I thought I could solve. Painting can be like that sometimes. The difficult things today were the Indian corn husk and the leaves of the zinnias. Notice my little color chart below. I find it helpful to have an array of different shades — along with the brand and color name. If you do still lifes, you end up needing more than just a couple tones of red!
