Gardening season has started once again. I decided years ago not to feel guilty about tending my garden, letting the painting time wait. Still, this view of some of my daffodils caught my eye today.

My setup this afternoon..

Soon the orchards will be in full bloom up here in northwest MIchigan. Artist friends and I always make a point to get out there and paint. We’re never satisfied with our paintings, though. Orchards are tough — trees are spaced out like soldiers. Hard to get a pleasing composition. Still, we try!
